Hello! My name’s Aykut. I am a freelance English to Turkish translator, specialized in technical translations. On this page, you can find some useful information about me, and some reasons to work with me. When you decide you are ready to place your first order, visit this page.
First, let me introduce myself briefly. I was born in Istanbul, in 1991. After high school, I started my bachelor’s in Marmara University Physics Department. After spending two years, I decided to quit and continue my education in Germany. In 2014, I enrolled in the Engineering Physics program at the University of Oldenburg. During my studies, I have realized that my interest in working in this field had slowly died and that I have always wanted something freer, more creative, and more exciting. That’s when I quitted again and started my education at Istanbul University, American Studies. Finally, I found my calling and focused on my creative side. I have published my poems and stories in various literary magazines in Turkey.
However, there was still a side in me that wanted science as well. That’s why I have been working as a technical translator for years. It feeds both desires.
Have you ever seen how technical documents are written? They are so boring and full of mistakes. Is there a rule saying that user manuals should be so dull? But hey, after all, they are written by engineers, not a poet.
Still, with my help, you can add some characteristics to your documents. I don’t just translate. I add style (if you ask for it).
I can help you with the translation of:
- Technical instructional documents
- Patent applications
- Academic articles
- Android/iOS applications
- Technical spec. documents
- Natural Sciences
- Information Technology
Below, I have listed some of my partners. Some of them are translation agencies, while some are direct clients. I prefer to work with clients directly since communication is key in translation. Besides, it’s more affordable for the client when there’s no agency between.
